Thoughts on Freedom From Founding Fathers

Ok Im like on a roll this week and ok so today as well lets make this post number two!! Kelly don't faint ok!! Anyways with the Fourth of July just around the corner I thought it would be great to post this, and yes of course I got it from my boss who is very very political and very very religious but dang I have learned SO much from him!!

George Washington,

Prayer "I now make it my earnest prayer, that God would have you and the State over which you preside, in his holy protection, that he would incline the hearts of the Citizens to cultivate a spireit of subordubatuib and obedience to Goverment, to entertain a brotherly affetion and love for one another, for their fellow Citizens of the United States at large, and particularly for their brethren who have served in the Field, and finally, that he would most graciously be pleased to dispose us all, to do Justice, to love mercy, and to deamean (i.e. comport) ourselves with that Charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were Charactersistics of the Divine Author of our bless Religion, and without an humble imitaion of whose expample in these things, we can never hope to be a happy Nation."

People "No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand, which conducts the affairs of men more then the People of the United States. Every step, by which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation, seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency."

Patiotisim "Citizens by birth or choice, of a common country, that country has a right to concentrate your affections, The name AMERICAN, which belongs to you, in your national capacity, must always exalt the just pide of Patiotisim, more then any appellation derived from local discrimination."

Immigrants "The bossom of America is open to receive not only the Opulent and respectable Stranger, but the oppressed and the persecuted of all Nations and Religions; whom we shall welcome to a participation of all our rights and privileges, if by decency and propriety of conduct they appear to merit the enjoyment."

Freedom of Speech "For is Men are to be precluded from offering their sentiments on a matter of which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences, that can invinte the consideration of Mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent, we may be led like sheep to the slaughter."

Freedom of Defense "For happily the goverment of the United States, which gives to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance, requires only that they who line under its protection should demean themselves as good citizens, in giving it on all occasions their effectual support.. May the childrent of the Stock of Abraham, who dwell in this land, continue to merit and enjoy the good will of the other inhabitants, while everyone shall sit in safety under his own vine and fig-tree, and there shall be none to make him affraid."

Ok more from Thomas Jefferson tomorrow I think I have typed way to much for tonight!!!

Some Food For Thought!!

My boss always has these interesting things that we stuff in our out going mail. Anyways this is one of them I thought it was pretty interesting!!! Hope you enjoy it!

The Man Who Sold Hot Dogs

There was a man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs. He was hard of hearing so he had no radio. He had trouble with his eyes so he read no newspapers…but he sold good hot dogs. He put up his signs on the highway telling how good they were. He stood by the side of the road and cried, “Buy a hot dog, Mister?” and the people bought. He increased his meat and bun orders. He bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade. He finally got his son home from college to help him out, but then something happened. His son said, “Father haven’t you been listening to the radio? Haven’t you been reading the newspapers? There is a big depression. The Mid East situation is terrible; the domestic situation is worse.” Where-upon the father thought, “Well, my son has been to college, he reads the papers, he listens to the radio, and he ought to know.” So the father cut down on his meat orders, took down his advertising signs, and he no longer bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hot dogs. His hot dog sales fell almost overnight. “You’re right son, ‘ the father said to the boy. “We certainly are in the middle of a great depression.”

Gas Prices.....

Ok so they just contuinue to rise here and it's fustrating I don't get why fuel has to be so dang much now adays!! Currently here by my house it$4.02 a gallon yes I about fainted when I saw that. Ive cut down on so much how much more will I need to cut back on. Ive got a wonderful vacation planned later this summer but of course I haven't purchased my airline ticket yet and of course those keep going up, and to be honest I'm even scared to get it so soon, especially after talking to a co-worker today who knows someone who purchased their tickets well in advance got a great deal on them and now the airline is demanding more money, I was like what the heck!! They said on the news today that gas could be as much as $6.00 a gallon come the end of summer and before I would be like ya right whatever but if they keep jumping a dime every 3 days I really do believe. When does the goverment step in and help, im so scared that everything is going to fall apart. With my line of work not only do we have to worry about the cost of diesel fuel for our delivery trucks which currently in Lehi, Utah is sitting at $4.71 a gallon we have to worry about the almost daily increases in steel, and then the fuel increases to have some company haul it to us. I think for the 1st time in a very long time I am scared about the future of our economy and my job, even tho we are still busy busy I keep that at the back of my mind that one day it could all change. Anyways there that is my vent and yes Kelly my 3rd blog in 3 days!!!

Ramblings

Ok so my sister in law said I needed to update my blog!! I must say I do agree with her since I am horrible at keeping this thing updated.....Sometimes I really wonder why I even have a blog!! So this past week at work we had a very early in the morning meeting. My boss had wanted everyone at work to watch this video he purchased while on vacation. It was entitled "Celebrate What's Right with the World" narriated by Dwitt Jones who his world famous photo journalist for the National Geographic. I went in watching this with such a bad attitude I am not a morning person and all I wanted to do was still be sleeping or something, well after it was over I was so glad that we had to watch this. I really puts things into a better perspective. I really reccomend watching this to anyone who wants to see things in a different light. Don't get me wrong I am not one of those people who are into those self help books I personally can't stand them but this isn't like it at all. Anyways here is a link to see the video it's 22 mins long and very well worth it I have watched it twice since our meeting on Thursday http://www.celebratetraining.com/.
I have taken sometime recently to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Utah has to offer, sometimes people ask me why I moved here and when I look around at all the beauty there is, the answer is so simple just look out your window and see what there is!!
Here are some pictures from up in American Fork Canyon that I took recently!! I love my backyard!! I also tossed in a couple from my 2nd favorite place in Utah...Archs National Park, what a fun place to go for a couple of days, you can't see it all and totally enjoy it in just 1 day that is for sure!!!
